My next project is to roll my own blog tool using Ruby and Postgresql.
Reasons:

• I’ve heard plenty of good things about both
• I think I know enough about the application space
• Learn one new programming language a year (PragProg rule)
• I don’t write enough code.

Update:
It might be cool to do something for file sharing/chat for small groups.
